100% detectable pots from PCR material
100% detectable pots from post post-consumer-recycled (PCR) material available starting next season
Our nursery aims not only to grow the most beautiful plants, but to do this in the most sustainable manner. This spring we have made a new, important step in furthering this goal.
Starting next summer, all our plants will be supplied in an anthracite pot (C12) made from post-consumer-recycled (PCR) waste. This means that the bags containing plastic waste that are collected from consumers are recycled into the pots in which we grow our high-quality products.
We opted for the colour anthracite not only because it is attractive but – even more important – also because it is easy to detect in the recycling process. Therefore, the pots are 100% recyclable once they are returned to the waste flow after use.
In addition to this, our plants will be supplied with a new photo label that is more in line with the new, modern anthracite pots starting this summer. This make-over will give our high-quality products a sleeker and more streamlined look, which will in turn make them more prominently visible in garden centres and on the sales floor. A more detailed report on this will appear later on.
